How We Started
The End of the Idle Compromise
IdleX started with two people who built power systems that were not allowed to fail. Before the first eAPU, Kevin Reed and Mike Deau were building off-grid command centers that had to run flawlessly in extreme conditions. No excuses. No second chances. That work left them with the same obsession: absolute reliability and intelligent power.
Each had mastered his own arena first. Kevin built premium aftermarket parts for the heavy-duty trucking industry. Mike engineered advanced energy systems designed to perform where others fail. Two sides of the same problem, before either of them knew it was the same problem.
When they turned to trucking, the math was hard to ignore. A Class 8 sleeper idling overnight burns thousands of gallons of diesel every year to keep drivers comfortable. They do it because the idle reduction systems on the market could not deliver a full night of real comfort. The promise was always there. The performance never was.
So they built IdleX. Not another patch on an old idea, but a clean-sheet system with one job: when the wheels stop, the engine turns off, and the cab stays comfortable until morning. No compromise between rest and fuel. Physics you can check, not promises in a brochure.
